Back to Startups: My Journey with Deep Green Innovators and Viridate

One of the most exciting things I’ve been working on this year is the Deep Green Innovators program and my new startup that grew out of it: Viridate 🌱

Deep Green Innovators is a 3-month part-time innovation program where you dive into sustainability, green tech, and entrepreneurship. But most importantly it is an opportunity to get inspired and find the right people to start an impact-driven company with. It is organized by The Kitchen - AU Erhverv og Innovation, AAU Innovation and Copenhagen School of Entrepreneurship.

I was missing the startup environment and was also curious to learn more about sustainability and how I could create positive impact, so it seemed like a great opportunity.

Over the span of a few months, there were multiple workshops, talks, group exercises, and a hackathon. We were learning about sustainability, environmental challenges, and ways companies are trying to solve them. I gained a lot of knowledge, inspiration, and met some very clever, ambitious people.

One of them was Benjamin Lehmann. We quickly discovered shared passions, motivations, and goals - and that’s how Viridate was born. 🚀 Our mission is to improve the process of handling sustainability data required by CSRD - specifically the availability and quality of scope 3 data provided by suppliers.

Our idea was recognized as we got accepted into the incubation phase! That allowed us access to CSE and its amazing community, business developers, mentors, and experts.

We’re continuing our research into the problem, designing the solution, and conducting interviews. If you’re working with CSRD, especially scope 3, and would like to share your insights, please do not hesitate to reach out to me!
