NemID Card Player

NemID was a digital identification system used in Denmark, allowing people to securely access online services, like banking and public services. Users of NemID would receive a physical code card with a series of numbers and keys. After logging in to a service with their username and password, users would be prompted to enter a key from their code card, as an additional security measure.

NemID became available in 2010 and was widely used until it was replaced by MitID in 2021. MitID is the new digital identification system in Denmark, designed to be more secure and user-friendly. NemID was fully shut down on 31 October 2023.

A lot of people still have their NemID cards, and this app allows them to upload a photo of their card and listen to the music based on its numbers. It was inspired by the Nemorial project by Niels Lyhne Løkkegaard after hearing him play the music on real church organs at KoncertKirken in Copenhagen.
